What Remains In 2002 my sister, my uncle and I went on a trip to visit our family’s ancestral land on which they had lived on for 800 years They had to abandon it all after World War II. What remained apart from the stories and dreams were scars on the land, traces of tragedy and violence, centuries of war and destruction. Covering the ruins in decades of growth and decay, the beauty of nature had turned death into exuberance, almost erased all traces. |
